Good morning from an overcast and showery Cambridge.
‘The Half-Life Girl’, Book Two of the ‘Portals’ trilogy, is finished!
I’m excited about Book Three! I’ve already written chapters 1-12, and I’m itching to get back to the writing. But first, there is work to be done to publish Half-Life Girl.
I’ve created 4 book covers, which I’ve uploaded to ‘The Half-Life Girl’ Facebook Group.
The Facebook Group link for ‘The Half-Life Girl’ is here.

I’m not going to spend much time on the book cover. The reason people will read ‘The Half-Life Girl’ is because there is a cliffhanger at the end of ‘Beyond The Shining Portals’, and readers will want to know what happens next. When all three books are written, I’ll update the covers.
I will have to write a blurb for the backs of the hardcover and paperback versions. And a Book Description on Amazon. I’ll also have to update my profile page there too.
There’s marketing to be done. I will book one-day slots on seven book clubs offering ‘Beyond The Shining Portals’ for 99c or for free. Last time I did both.
The free book went to number one for Fantasy free books across Amazon. The 99c version went to number 16 in Fantasy. It was selling hundreds of books a day. It was quite exciting!
The slots will be over seven days sometime in July or August, depending on availability.
Finally, I’m listing all the loose ends in ‘The Half-Life Girl’ which I will need to tie up in ‘Now Is The Time Of Monsters’, Book Three. I deliberately left these threads hanging. It makes writing the book more interesting. And challenging. I have no idea how I am going to solve some of the problems :)
